We have arrived safely in Rwanda. Our flights here were uneventful. We flew to Detroit and after a brief layover, boarded a flight to Amsterdam. In Amsterdam we had another brief layover before we boarded the longest flight of our trip to Kigali. The break in Amsterdam was so helpful! We didn't have much time to do anything except buy water and drink it quickly before we boarded our next flight. On our way home we will have several hours to play at the airport in Amsterdam. Hopefully we will also have two new kids to play with.
Our accommodations in Rwanda are wonderful. We are blessed to be able to rent a friend's home so we have a three bedroom, 2 bath home. We have a driver and a nice man who will come and fix breakfast and clean up after us. Amazing. It is so nice to have all of this space. When we were in China we were crowded into small hotel rooms and it wasn't pretty on many levels.
Tomorrow we will visit the ministry office to begin the process for the second child, the girl child. I'm sorry this isn't much of a post. My brain is mush. With the exception of a couple of hours of sleep on the plane, I've been up for 34 hours now. Thoughts are no longer connecting. So I'm off to my netting covered bed. Good night from Rwanda!
Below are a couple of pictures from our layover in Amsterdam. Kate was still recovering from Dramamine.
Glad you made it safely!!
